# Cut paths from another path

Note the colors of your objects. During the following steps the parent object will change to the child object color.

1. Open Layer panel to see the list of paths.

1. Set tool to Edit Paths by Nodes

1. Select the main path

1. Select the path to be cut out of the main path

1. Command Path ->Exclusion

1. The main path will change colors to the other path. reset to black

1. Switch tool to Select and Transform objects

1. Select from the Layer panel the cut path and delete

1. Continue until complete
