The Swirl Cross mirror design is sand-carved onto the back of the mirror, thereby removing the mirrored surface and leaving an etched glass surface. The etched area is then infilled with gold resin. This process is done from the back of the mirror leaving the front of the mirrored glass smooth to the touch.
